Religion-hope in world torn by religion

Generally, I would post political, religious, and other controversial matter in my alternate LJ, antichris_tine ~ but my fellow Michigander Michael Moore wrote something that is so relevant to today, and makes so much more sense than the paranoic poison that has been stirred up and spread by the right-wing racist lynch mob press (Fox-so-called-News instigated this travesty and continues to profit greatly from it)...

There's been so much that's been said about this manufactured controversy, I really don't want to waste any time on this day of remembrance talking about it. But I hate bigotry and I hate liars, and so in case you missed any of the truth that's been lost in this, let me point out a few facts:

As we all recited daily in grade school, this country is supposed to be based upon liberty and justice for all. I know we have screwed up in the past on that, and still do from time to time, but our system of checks and balances usually works. Let's just frickin' use common sense, people! Okay?
