Another musician in Eppy's pop stable bites the dust

Tom Dawes

Birth: Jul. 25, 1944
Death: Oct. 21, 2007
Tom Dawes, founder and guitarist for The Cyrkle, dies Oct 21, 2007

He was the bass player, singer and founding member of the 1960's pop trio The Cyrkle.

First discovered by Brian Epstein's friend Nat Weiss, the band was originally called the The Rhondells. Brian and Nat got them a contract with Columbia Records in 1966. Eppy then arsked John Lennon for suggestions on a new name, and John came up with The Cyrkle. They were the only American artists ever under Brian's management.

They were the opening act for the Beatles' 1966 USA tour and were seen in person by TeenChristine on Aug 13, 1966. :D
