It was almost a toss-up whether to put this on a Saturday or Sunday post.
Since Christians do tend to scream and whine "sacrilege" far more than Jews, Sunday won. XD
The mindset of Richard Dawkins' friend, described below, is very close to who I would call my ideal dream partner.
Of course, being "an intelligent lapsed/agnostic Jew" doesn't hurt a bit. XD

What's really amusing are the YouTube comments ...
OMG, the creator of this vid gets called both a Nazi and a Zionist and everything in-between, depending on who's making the statement.
These crazy narrow people are vehemently disagreeing with every little item in this simply-stated little cartoon ~ disagreeing in BOTH directions! ~ completely missing the point that this vid is not meant to be a detailed, meticulously all-inclusive thing.
People are a-n-a-l cretins.
Consider yourself lucky that the eppylover is not G-d. The universe being, of course, G-d's Etch-A-Sketch ~ the eppylover/G-d would have long ago turned it upside-down and shaken it madly in frustration

I adore the mixture of reggae, rap and Jewishness. Perfect blend.
The man, formerly Matthew Miller of Pennsylvania, is very religious ~ yet he does not preach ~ he does not actually promote Judaism in his music or his life, and he refuses to force it upon others, nor does he believe that others should follow him in his religion ~ UNLESS they feel it within themselves anyway.
Yes, I do realize the above paragraph seems full of redundancies ~ but there are subtle differences in each phrase.

 I often wonder if Eppy understood Yiddish*, and his opinion of the language, considering his repressed self-hatred of his Jewishness. (He once turned down management of a very young Paul Simon because he "looks too Jewish" ... !)
I'm almost positive zayde (grandfather) Isaac, an immigrant from Lithuania, must have spoken it. If the Epstein family was anything like mine with the Polish language (my father's paternal grandfather came from Poland) then daddy Harry would at least have known a few choice words and phrases.
What tickles me the most about Yiddish is that so many of its words and phrases have been adopted into the American lexicon. Sometimes a person isn't even aware he's using a Yiddish word.

I'm posting this NOT because I'm on anyone's "side," but simply as an example ~ the existence of "Jews Not Zionists" shows that the Jewish people are not stamped out of one mold. They're just like everyone else, running from very secular to very obsessively fundamentalist, and everything in-between.

Even though personally I don't think the establishment of Israel was "done right" somehow ~ me being agnostic on all religions and therefore being of the strong opinion that doing anything based more upon scripture than common sense is stupid ~ after all, look at all the chaos ~~
~~ I nevertheless don't like the idea of "dismantlement" of a society/state/country that is already in full bloom. Think about it ~ all countries were founded by one people pushing another people around. Israel is in many ways beautiful and is the home of many families.
All countries have their problems, and the Middle Eastern countries have particularly bad problems. IMO, there is no answer because there is more bad being done by BOTH sides than there is good.
